Isale Eko (series)

Alex Nwokolo (1963) had been intrigued by art perhaps since his teenage years. By the mid 70s and early 80s, he was a frequent visitor at the National Museum art club, Onikan, Lagos This experience buoyed him up and later gained admission to study Fine Arts at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi in 1986.

The art school was relatively new at the time and the faculty comprised young artists and academics. With good rapport between teachers and students, the art school demystified arts education. Nwokolo graduated with flying colours receiving the Reactor's Certificate of Excellence and the American Ambassador's Award for Artistic Achievement in painting upon graduation in 1991. He holds an (MFA) Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Benin 2000.

He became known for his characteristics of bold, bright artworks. In 2004, Alex was awarded the Guinness certificate of Merit. With several local and international exhibitions and auctions in Nigeria, the UK, USA, Holland, and South Africa. He is a member of the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria and Society of Nigerian Artist.
