Artist: Wande George

Wande George, a multi-talented contemporary Nigerian artist. As a painter, illustrator, conceptualizer, designer, and creative art director, Wande's passion for creativity has led him on a winding journey through the worlds of advertising and fine art.

After graduating from Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, Nigeria in 1987, Wande worked briefly as a studio artist before being drawn to the dynamic and ever-evolving Advertising and Communication Industry. For almost two decades, Wande honed his skills as a visualizer and later as a Creative Art Director, leaving his mark on numerous blue-chip brands and earning multiple awards for his innovative illustrations and designs.

Despite his success in the advertising world, Wande never lost his love for painting. He continued to experiment and hone his craft, resulting in the development of a unique style that reflects both his love for geometric shapes and minimalist concepts. His interest in socio-cultural, political and contemporary commentaries is evident in his works.

Since leaving the advertising world in 2010, Wande has dedicated himself to his first love, painting. He has participated in many Art Auctions, had three solo exhibitions, and collaborated with artists both locally and internationally. His paintings are characterized by deliberate use of space, informative lines, and elongated figures that expand the bounds of traditional painting.

For Wande, art is a journey of self-discovery, and he is constantly searching for new ways to express himself through his work. He believes that the deeper he delves into his soul, the more unique and pure his treasure becomes. Join Wande on this beautiful journey through the tunnel of his soul, and experience the rewards of exploring the boundless possibilities of creativity.
